The M110 OpenECU is a multi-purpose controller designed to support a wide range of light, commercial, and off-highway vehicle applications. Its applications could be a CAN gateway, a CAN I/O expansion, a SENT-based sensor spoofing (SENT to Analog), a SENT to CAN gateway, a supervisory control, or a smart relay driver functions.   Designed to allow for circuit customisation to meet specific needs, the M110 combines a configurable I/O set, robust electrical protection, and the user friendly OpenECU™ Simulink application interface, making it well suited as a rapid prototyping platform that can be carried through to volume production using the same proven hardware.

It includes a 32-bit Freescale SPC5534 microprocessor, up to two CAN 2.0 channels, three SENT receive and four SENT transmit channels, together with multiple digital, frequency, analog, RTD, and thermistor inputs and multiple digital and PWM outputs. It has comprehensive electrical safeguards including protection against double and reverse battery, load dump, and overcurrent on outputs, plus open and short circuit detection on outputs which allow the controller to operate reliably. 

The M110 is programmed using MATLAB/Simulink tools that significantly speed up algorithm development by using automatic software integration and code generation, with a C API also available. In addition, developers can quickly test application software using simulations and automated testing.  Dana's systems, controls and software engineers are available to support application implementations from prototype to production.
