Inmotion DCC80M24 DCC3 DC/DC Converter
The Inmotion DCC3 (DCC80M24) is a high-voltage DC/DC converter designed to supply a stable low-voltage output to the auxiliary system of an electric or hybrid vehicle. The DCC80M24 accepts a high-voltage battery input across a 270–900 V range and delivers an adjustable 12 V or 24 V output, with galvanic isolation between the high- and low-voltage sides for improved system reliability and personal safety. Built on Silicon Carbide (SiC) technology, it reaches efficiencies of up to 97 % in a rugged, liquid-cooled package rated to IP6K9K for the demanding environment of electric vehicles.
At the core of the DCC80M24 is a SiC power stage with liquid (water/ethylene-glycol) cooling that minimises physical size, an adjustable output voltage with current limiting, and a boost mode delivering up to 10 kW of output power. Pre-charge from the low-voltage side allows the high-voltage circuit to be simplified, and multiple units can be paralleled to achieve higher output power. The converter integrates a dedicated hardware security module developed to ISO 21434 and prepared for UNECE R155 and R156, and is designed to meet ISO 13849 and ISO 26262 functional safety requirements, with a Hazardous Voltage Interlock Loop (HVIL), automatic over-temperature and over-voltage protection, a short-circuit-protected low-voltage output and a lockstep safety MCU.
The DCC80M24 communicates over CAN using J1939 and/or CANopen, with diagnostics and software download through UDS and calibration via XCP, and connects through a TE HDSCS logic connector, a TE HVA HD400 high-side input and cable-lug low-side output. Configuration is handled through the Zapi group software platform, which offers a customisable collection of standard vehicle functions to suit specific applications. Inmotion designs and assembles in Sweden and works in close cooperation with integrators to configure the product to their needs; specifications are subject to change without notice, and it is the responsibility of the product user to determine suitability for a specific application.
